Activities had been conducted at the penitentiaries directed to legal education of prisoners
Seminars
are organized for prisoners on the concept of amnesty and rules of applying for
amnesty
The Citizen’s Labor Rights Protection League has conducted seminars for
prisoners on the concept of amnesty institution, rules of applying for amnesty
together with the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice. The seminars
were conducted by the chairman of the Citizen’s Labor Rights Protection League
Sahib Mammadov and the staff of the Department on organization of correction
work of the Penitentiary Service.
The
seminars were organized at the Penitentiaries No. 2 and 9 of the Penitentiary
Service. The memory leaflets titled "Right of application for amnesty” and
"Right for grant of parole under certain conditions” prepared and massively
disseminated by the Citizen’s Labor Rights Protection League with financial
support of the State NGO Support Council under the President of the Republic of
Azerbaijan as well as information booklets prepared within the project financed
by the OSI Human Rights and Governance Grant Program had been disseminated
during the seminars.
Citizen’s
Labor Rights Protection League will be carrying on the activities in a way of
raising awareness of prisoners together with Penitentiary Service.
