Staff members of NPM group conducted visit to N#14 detention place

According to the instruction
of the Ombudsman, staff members of NPM group conducted visitto N#14 detention place of
Penitentiary Service.
Aim of the visiting was to
investigate if the chief of the establishment had realized recommendation given
by NPM group during the last visiting and detention condition, as well as it
was for protest held by a group of detainees against detention condition in 9
September, 2012.
During the visiting detainees
were interviewed, some of them who appealed to the Ombudsman were accepted for
an interview. Vidadi Isgandarli and Shahin Hasanov were also within them. As
the result of the examination in N# 14 detention place, taking into account
detainees’ suggestions, the Commissioner appealed to the Ministry of Justice
and the Ministry of Ecology and Mineral Resources and Garadagh Executive Power.
Moreover Ombudsman also
appealed to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population regarding
to unanswered request of some disabled detainees to N#11 Medical Social Expert
Commission for getting disability status.
