The legal assistance was provided to prisoners at the Penitentiary No. 15
The legal assistance was provided to prisoners at the Penitentiary No. 15 of the Penitentiary Service within the project titled "Provision of assistance to prisoners at penitentiaries” implemented by the Citizen’s Labor Rights Protection League and financed by the Open Society Institute Human Rights and Governance Grant Program. The legal assistance had been provided by the member of the Bar Association Mr. Hafiz Hasanov and famous lawyer Mr. Alimammad Nuriyev. Generally 18 prisoners were provided with legal assistance. Information on legal assistance, telephone numbers of lawyers providing legal assistance, posters with e-mails of the organization were posted and memories had been disseminated in the penitentiary. The number of prisoners getting legal assistance through calling by phones had been increased after hanging posters at the penitentiaries. 22 telephone calls had been received by the lawyers and the office of the organization since early April of this year. Along with the consultations provided through the telephone all the calls were registered and corresponding measures had been taken.
