The representatives of Ganja Regional Center
conducted visit to investigatory isolator No. 2
According
to the instructions of the Commissioner for Human Rights, the
representatives
of the Ombudsman’s Ganja Regional Center conducted visit to
investigatory
isolator No. 2 and met with Azar Jabiyev and Fakhri Ilyasov detained
there.
Those
persons didn’t complain about detention conditions and treatment.
During
private conversation they complained about unfair consideration of
their cases
by court and non-provision of petition of their lawyers. Since April
26, 2011
A. Jabiyev and April 28, 2011 F. Ilyasov have started hunger strike as
a
protest to the above-mentioned, and noted they would continue hunger
strike
till the unbiased consideration of their cases.
The
representatives of the Ombudsman recommended them stop hunger strike,
informed
them about their rights, as well as about the competences of the
Commissioner.
They
also recommended the administration of the facility to keep under their
control
the health state of those persons.
It
should be noted the appeal of their lawyer Elchin Namazov addressed to
the
Ombudsman has been sent to the Prosecutor General and the latter’s
respond was
sent to the lawyer.
