At present about 4000 drug addicts are in detention

security of Eynulla Fatullayev and all the remaining prisoners. His statement
that his life is in danger is absolutely groundless,” said Mehman Sadyhov, a
press spokesman from the penitentiary service. When asked how prisoners security
could be guaranteed, or if drugs could be sneaked inside, Sadyhov answered that
last year, 41 people with drugs were arrested in the places of
detention.
"At present about 4000 drug addicts are in
detention. These people attempt to sneak drugs into jail in any possible way and
we try to prevent it,” he added.
On
March 1, Eynulla Fatullayev, who has been sentenced to 8.5 years imprisonment,
said his potential murder could be made to look like an overdose, which explains
why drugs were planted on him at the end of December 2009.
