NPG members conducted the investigation in the Baku Investigation Isolator

On 08 April 2014 the NPG members according to the instructions by Ombudsman conducted the investigation in the Baku Investigation Isolator and met with the persons appealed to the Ombudsman and with the other detainees indicated on the appeal to the Ombudsman by the representatives of the ICRC Baku Office.
During the meeting, the NPG members monitored the custody conditions, health status and treatment of those detainees in the isolator.
In the Baku Investigation Isolator over 30 detainees were met and their complaints were heard.
During the conversation with those persons individually, they did not complain about custody conditions and treatment. Those persons are explained the relevant legal advice, the competences of the Ombudsman. Also, regarding the complaints of some detainees, the Commissioner is to be addressed the corresponding bodies for investigation.
The administration of the facility was given the necessary instructions for further improvement.
