According to the instruction
of the Ombudsman, staff members of NPM group conducted visit to N#9 detention place of
Penitentiary Service.
Aim of the visiting was to
investigate detention condition and treatment with detainees.
It should be mentioned that
after the last staff change in N#9 detention place, detention condition has
been improved.
During the visiting about 20
detainees were interviewed. They didn’t complain of detention condition,
treatment, appreciated the last reforms. After the last visiting of NPM group,
new bathroom has been built, the number of sanitary units has been raised from
16 to 40 and dormitories have been repaired.
Moreover it was determined
that telephone lines and medical staff are not adequate with the number of
detainees.
Appeal has been made to the
Ministry of Justice regarding to the result of the visiting.
